OK, so Memorial Day weekend took precedent over the blog. My apologies. I went home Sunday afternoon and did nothing but eat, sleep and fish until this morning. Here's my belated reflections...
It was a holiday day weekend so you never know who will show up. We were down. Only about 435 joined us for worship, but I love the fact that 435 is down!!
Christopher lead "We are Standing on Holy Ground" right before my message. That was Denise Sandrell's favorite song and this was our first Sunday without her. May she rest in God arms.
Noticed a handful of people sitting through both sermons. Not sure if that means they liked it so much that they wanted to hear it again or they were so confused after the first that they stayed for the second.
Spoke on 1st John 4 (God is love). Wow!! What a powerful passage. Not sure I quite communicated the power and depth of those verses. Not sure I fully realize the power and depth of those verses.
That's about it. I'm getting cranked on a short week for this Sunday. We're picking up where we left off this week...since God loves us this much, we really ought to love one another.
