We opened up two new children's rooms today. A second nursery and a second Primetime group just for two year olds. Both rooms look awesome! We have some incredibly talented and creative people.
Showed the video from last week's summer camp before worship. It looked awesome. The 4th-6th graders went to the overnight camp (last week) and the K-3rd are headed to day camp this week.
"To God be the Glory" was the hymn before my message. Older hymns are rare at Maury Hills, but this one seemed to fit. Of course, Christopher added a different chorus. :)
Talked about the vision of Maury Hills. I never get tired of talking about this!!
We announced a new staff position today! We're hiring a children's minister!! Initially, it will only be part-time (20 hrs a week), but if this ministry continues to grow we'll be moving to full-time shortly. We're gearing up to handle 200+ kids on Sunday mornings.
We prayed for the Belize Mission Team at the end of the service. This is our 5th year to set up medical/dental clinics in that country. We have 16 going from MH and we're teaming up with folks from Carmack Blvd. The team will be there June 20-28. Keep them in your prayers.
Our students leave for Impact this week as well. The Junior High students go June 19-22 and the Senior High students are there June 23-27. It's an unbelievable experience and we're praying for God to do some great things with our students.
Last night we had another Maury Hills' Coffeehouse. Our own Gary Anderson and Enoch Thweatt took the stage first for a little warm-up act, then Bethany Nobles treated us to some great music. Her husband, Jonathan Chu (who plays with Skillet) also joined her for several numbers. They were both great!
Lots going on right now. I'm just trying to hang on and see where God takes us!
